Wall climbing

This is about the saying, "there is always the first time for everything"

Another first experience this year, WALL CLIMBING!
I know, it sounds like really-not-my-thing.  But why not, there is nothing wrong in trying new things isn't it?  I knew for quite some time that Daniel is really into wall climbing.  After dozens of request and rejection, end of last year our cell group, W15 went for Wall Climbing outing in Putrajaya Challange Park.  Unfortunately, back then I was not around, and I had to miss the opportunity.

I only heard the story from Nukke who joined the cell group outing, how scary when you are on top, how Emily sprained her ankle, until how hard Alvin trying to climb and had to accept the fact that he couldn't move up anymore step.  Me, being not sporty person felt the nervous.  "Ahh, but if Alvin couldn't manage to climb, it would be understandable if I couldn't either." that was my thought (So sorry Alvin to use u as an example >.< ).        No pressure.  No high estimation.

being a cicak, climbing the wall
On the day, gladly I manage to climb to the top!!! 3 times!  Congratulation Mikhal :)

Papa 50th

Congratulation Papa, you have gone through half of the century..

This year, 10 Feb 2012 we celebrated Pap's b'day in Danau Toba, Brastagi, and Medan.  What a great family holiday! After 10 months seeing each other via skype, we manage to gather once again :)  It was the first time me, Yason, and Mama visiting Medan.  As a birthday gift, we ordered a caricature with Papa playing bass inside.  And I bought a bluetooth headset.

I love the place..

I love the fellowship time with family..

and I must admit, I love the food too!
If you like to eat, you won't be able to resist the goodness of the durian, saksang, popiah, bihun kari, mi siantar, etc, etc.

It's a great escape from the internship, working, and study life.
See u in the next holiday!

Thanks February

I am really sorry for skipping the month February, with my absence in this blog.  By far, February has been really awesome for me, and I believe for my friends too.  Lots of excitement, experience, and joy for sure.  It has been a great holiday indeed, in between my duties during the internship.  I hardly believe that February has passed.

Closing January with spending Chinese New Year in Sunway, Malaysia.  In fact, after 3,5 years staying here, this is my first time celebrating Chinese New Year in Sunway.  It was super quite.  Well, maybe not as quite as CNY in Singapore I spent 3 years ago.  But still, shops, restaurants, and even hawker stalls were closed.  Boring? NO.  I spent my CNY with my friends, had CNY's eve dinner like how it should be.  (Even I never did it back home).  We cooked and enjoyed some dishes, just simple and nice.

It was so great that February has many public holidays, at the beginning of the month, me and my friends went to Ipoh for half day food experience, Sungei Klah Hot Spring, and finally, Cameron Highlands.  It was great!  I didn't know that I have been to the hot spring until the time I reached there.  It was the same hotspring I went with church friends' Peter, Siew Mien, Yee Seng, Antonia, Andrew, and the rest maybe 2 years ago.  Nothing much changed, I think it was more crowded because of the long weekend we went on.

I love the Ipoh dimsum, well maybe I just like dimsum in general, the nice one.  Great menu for breakfast.  Menglembu is our next stop for food trip.  Ate like mad. Ais kacang, fried kuey teow, honey chicken, fried chicken, wantan mee, etc, etc.  *full of guilty now.. hikshiks.* We reached Cameron late at night, and had to miss the pasar malam, had a nice apartment unit for 10 of us. :)) I LOVE the weather.  reminds me of Puncak, Ahhhh.. it's been a while........

After the FUN time I spent with friends, it was time for family time.  We planned to have a family reunion, together with Papa's b'day by visiting Medan!!!! Excited.  As many of my friends are from Medan, they started promoting all the good things about Medan, and un-fortunately it is FOOD again!!!! Of course I wouldn't miss the opportunity. Hahaha.. Prepared with a to-go-and-to-eat-list, I flew to Medan from KL, while Pap, Mam, and Yason flew from Jakarta.

Danau Toba and Sipiso-piso waterfall are BEAUTIFUL!  The lake is so huge, no wonder it can appear on the map.  About the Medan city itself, we were focused on food, as what people suggested.  It is so fortunate that we stayed in Swiss Bell inn Medan, which is just behind, Selat Panjang, where many good foods are located.

to be continued...
