Great opportunity to be able to go outstation!
And yes I had that chance, for new project preparation, I was assigned to go to Medan. *yeaaaay*. Although there is no fancy business event, meeting, or any workshop to be attended, I still get all the privilege.
Top flight and hotel service
(without any cent spent from my own pocket). Flying with non-budget airlines, Staying in one of the best hotel in town, Enjoying nice breakfast and swimming pool. Awesomeness. And since I were all by my self, I asked Venny to join me staying in the hotel for the first night. Hmm, wishing anyone could also ask me the same in Jakarta. hihi.
Have a break from daily office environment
Not that I don't like my office. It is just great to be outside, rather than just sitting in the office the whole day. Moreover, it is not only outside office, it is outside Jakarta. Personally for me, who love travelling to another city and new place, it is a great opportunity indeed.
Note that it is only an escape from the office environment. Not the work itself. Hahaha.
Wisata kuliner
Remember the time I had my family holiday to Medan, the food is just irresistable. Started with BPK and Saksang, my wisata kuliner turned quite smoothly, following by fried kwetiaw, bihun bebek, mapo taofu, fried saksang, sate padang, nasi perang, and closed with the wonderful pancake durian. Pity it is not the season for durian, that I couldn't repeat the durian Medan experience this time.
Now only I know, that Medan also has a kind of Jogja's nasi kucing, called nasi perang. One package of nasi perang is wrapped with banana leaf, with small portion of nasi uduk and a choice of quarter of balado egg or balado fish. The different is the setting of the place, here in Medan we do not sit lesehan, like in Jogja. This place is very crowded at night especially on weekends, and they also sell indomie and kopi. Located in front of Elisabeth hospital, the side by side stalls are located along the street.
Going to medan, not to forget the famous bolu meranti and bika ambon to bring home. yummm.
Meet my Medan buddies
Thanks to Venny, Elvis, and Sutanto who brought me exploring Medan. I also had a chance to ride the becak motor. Interesting.
And it's a wrap..
Hoping to get another chance to go somewhere else *wink*
